“This is Your Time” Card

Hello! Today I am sharing another project created with the new “At Home” collection from Catherine Pooler Designs. If you missed my first project, check it out HERE.

Let me show you how I put this one together…

Step 1: Trim & Cut

I started with a top folding A2 card base. I then layered on top a 4″x5.25″ piece of floral patterned paper from the “Wallpaper” patterned paper pack. I then cut out a white frame using the Scallops & Dots die set. I wanted the interior of the window to be a different pattern, so I cut another piece of patterned paper to fit just a hair larger than the opening of the frame. I also pulled a 1.25″x4″ strip of blue patterned paper from my scrap pile I thought I would use as a belly band.

Step 2: Make a Window

After securing the first two layers of patterned paper together, I added a few of the die cut clocks left over from the last card I made and sprinkled a few Sofia sequins onto the center of the card.

I adhered a piece of acetate behind the scalloped frame and placed foam tape around the entire border as well as a few pieces where the belly band would cover. I wanted the pieces to shake freely, but also not allow the clock pieces to get covered up over one another too much.

Step 3: Belly Band

I didn’t like the way my card looked with the belly band having straight ends over the scalloped frame, so I decided to run it through the same die used before.

You can see here how I tucked the strip under the cutting edge of one layer and over the other so it doesn’t cut too short. You could just snip your dies apart too.

Once I ran this through my machine, I realized I didn’t have it quite straight, so I trimmed it down to 1″ wide.

Step 4: Stamping

I had a difficult time picking what shape and sentiment I wanted to use next. I stamped several and ultimately settled on an oval shape and sentiment from the new “Moments in Time” stamp set.

Since I also had a hard time picking which ink color to go with, I figured I’d just go with them all. I used a foam blending tool to pounce on each color one at a time to create an ombre rainbow effect.

Step 5: Pop It

I added a bit of ribbon behind the die cut oval, foam strips, and a bit of liquid glue to give me a little wiggle time to get it centered.

Step 6: Final Touch

Once I had the sentiment in place I dug through my stash of CP sequins to get a few more colors and popped them on for the final touch.

Step 7: Enjoy!

That’s it! Now this card is ready to give to someone you love. I hope this card project encourages you to try your hand at making a shaker with die cuts or perhaps an ombre stamped rainbow as well.
