Hey, there! I’m back again with another Halloween craft for you. I was inspired by all the adorable, but SO expensive Halloween headbands I’ve been seeing in every store. They’re super cute, but either way over my budget, not the right style, or falling apart. So… why not make my own! I had most of the supplies in my craft room already. All I needed to pick up were a few black faux flowers and headbands which were under a dollar each. I think it came together even better than what I’ve seen in stores. Let me show you how I put it together…
Step 1: Die Cutting
I started by warming up my hot glue gun and die cutting several bats from black felt as well as a floral border strip cut from both purple felt and silver glitter craft foam.
Step 2: Stitch & Stick
I lined up pairs of felt bat die cuts back to back and machine stitched a V shape to mimic a bend in their wings. (This step isn’t necessary. It just adds extra flair.)
Next, I used the hot glue gun and black craft wire to attach the bats to the headband followed by tulle, fluffy trim, iridescent floss, and black flowers.
In the center of each black flower I attached a silver glitter flower followed by a purple felt flower then finished them off with a dollop of pink glitter.
That’s it! I couldn’t believe how quickly this came together. I definitely think I’ll be creating more of these in other colors and styles. How did you enjoy this non-paper craft? I hope you liked it, and I also hope you’ll come back soon for another Halloween craft I have to share with you.
