Hello, crafty friends! I am excited to join Spellbinders again as a guest designer featuring their new Halloween 2021 collection.
Today I am sharing a set of favor boxes I made using the new Halloween 2021 collection. Although this collection lends itself wonderfully to cardmaking, I find I donโt actually give a lot of Halloween cards. I do however give loads of Halloween treats! I always need several dozen for my sonโs classmates, but I also enjoy passing out goodies to my coworkers as well. So, I dug out my gable favor box die, and got to work.
The first item from this release that caught my eye was the Letโs Be Frank die set. Itโs super-duper cute, and I think the large and basic format of the monsterโs head and witchesโ hat are perfect for mass producing treat boxes or tag for any crafter including kids.
Monster Favor Box
I let my son pick out his favorite character from the die set, and can you guess which one he went for? Yup, the monster! He chose a lovely shade of green cardstock, and I cut out all the pieces for him. He was even able to easily use an alcohol marker and trace around the edges and lines to add extra dimension to the face. His favorite part was adding the funny little eye stickers. I think this turned out so cute, and my son is super proud and excited to give these to his classmates when their annual Halloween class party finally comes.

Witch Hat Favor Box
The second box we made features the witchโs hat. We wanted it to be a bit โextraโ as my son called it, so we added black sparkle silk to each of the black cardstock pieces. We went back and added it to the monsterโs hair and neck bolts as well, and since we had a little extra space for another embellishment on this one, we added a few bats cut from the Open House Boo! die set. I think this one might be my favorite of the bunch.

Witch Legs Favor Box
For our final treat box, we just had to use the witchโs legs. The really remind me of the legs that stick out under Dorothyโs house in the Wizard of Oz. I am so temped to go back and make those shoes a sparkling red just like the movie. How cute would that be? Anyhow, we didnโt really feel like inlaying each of the dots or stripes on these adorable stockings, so we opted to simply back the entire leg with a strip of green cardstock we painted with sparkle silk. We also added a bit of extra shine to the shoes by adding a scrap of mirror silver cardstock behind the buckle and eyelets.

Favor Box Photos & Supply List
Well, that does it for me again. I really hope youโve enjoyed the projects weโve made for you today as much as weโve enjoyed making them for you. I hope to craft with you again soon.
Until next timeโฆ stay crafty! โ Laura Evangeline
