Cardmaking, Die Cutting, Heat Embossing, Ink Blending, Thinking of You

My Thoughts

Hello, there! I’m returning today with the second tutorial in this month’s mini series featuring new stamps & dies from Catherine Pooler Designs. If you missed the first one, check it out HERE. Otherwise, let me show you how this twin set of cards came together…

Step 1: Gather Trash Upcycle & Recycle

I pulled out the pieces of textured white cardstock left over from the last project where I had die cut the scalloped frames and attached them directly over the inked background pieces also created in the last tutorial. I then trimmed them down to 4″ x 5.25″

The scalloped frame die cut also left a large white scrap from the center of the vine frame which I used to cut out several foliage pieces I then stacked up to create thick embellishments.

Step 2: Emboss & Stitch

Next, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiments onto vellum before tacking them to the inked panel and adding a decorative stitched border.

Each card front was then secured to a top folding A2 card base using foam adhesive.

Step 3: Sequins & Splatter

For the final touches, I added sequins, a white twine bow, and a splattering of white pigment and clear sparkly ink.

Until next time… stay crafty!
