Die Cutting, Heat Embossing, Ink Blending, Tags and Gifts, Thinking of You

Encouraging Tags

Hey! Hey! I’m back with the third tutorial in this month’s mini series featuring new stamps & dies from Catherine Pooler Designs. If you missed the first one, check it out HERE, and find the second one HERE. Otherwise, let’s get started on this tag set…

Step 1: Cut, Stack, & Set

For the base of these tags, I used dies from the Notecard Frame & Tag die set as well as the Hearts-n-Tags die set to cut out tag shapes from the inky backgrounds created in the first tutorial of this mini series as well as vellum and textured white cardstock.

I then stacked them slightly off-set and secured the layers together with eyelets and an eyelet setting tool.

Step 2: Stamp & Emboss

Next, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiments using a stamping platform.

(Note: Because vellum attracts static, I was sure to use embossing powder over the surface before adding the ink and powder.)

For any places I wanted to add extra powder, I used an embossing ink pen.

A white foliage die cut stacked three layer thick was added to the larger tags.

Step 3: Sequins & Splatter

For the final touches, I added a splattering of white pigment and clear sparkly ink, sequins, and white twine.
