Gift Card Inspired Card

Happy Holidays! The project I’m sharing today is inspired by a stunning gift card I found at Target.

I’m an avid collector of gift cards with cute designs (as well as postage stamps), and when I saw this one, I knew the Winter Foliage die set would be perfect to create a matching greeting card!

To keep things simple, I die cut the Gift Card Bag from kraft cardstock and all the images from Winter Foliage in white as well as the “For You” sentiment.

I then used Distress Oxide inks to color blend the pieces to match the gift card. I also used a bit of ink to shade the gift bag and color the white card base pale blue to match the background of the gift card.

After ink blending and assembling all of the flowers, I splattered several colors of ink over the pieces and set them aside to dry.

While everything dried, I trimmed the handle off the gift bag, replaced it with a bit of baker’s twine, and then used foam adhesive to attach the bag to a piece of woodgrain embossed white cardstock.

Once all the elements were dry I was able to adhere everything together and slip in the gift card. I love how this turned out. It was so fun to create, and I can’t wait to create another gift card inspired card!
