Ombre Watercolor Pansy Tags

Hello, there! I’m returning today with my last project as a guest designer this month for Papertrey Ink. In my first post, I showed you how I watercolored several pansies and then used them to make a card. I ended up with a few blooms left over, so I made a set of tags. Here’s how I created them…

Step 1: Cut & Emboss

For the foundation of my tag, I used the Stitched Tag die on some beautiful glittered ombre cardstock. I then used the “Just for You” sentiment from the Think Big die collection to cut out sentiments in both white glittered cardstock as well as gold.

I didn’t think the gold cardstock had enough impact, so I pressed the die into my embossing ink pad, and coated it with gold embossing powder before heat setting. Now it looks much more substantial and as if it’s really made of metal.

Step 2: Assembly

Since I already had the blooms colored and pieced together, I just attached them to the bottoms of my tags followed by the sentiments. I also added a few iridescent sequins because I didn’t have enough sparkle already. Ha!

Step 3: Ribbon & Twine

All you need now is to add a bit of ribbon or twine, and that’s it!

Now you can attach a gift card to the back or tie these beauties on to even the most basic gift (yes, even socks) and your recipient will be over the moon.
