Pinkfresh Studio January 2022 Stamp, Die, Stencil, & Hot Foil Release

Welcome!

Hello! If you are new here, welcome! If you’re returning, welcome back! I’m so glad you’re here for this extra special post. Today I am honored to be joining Pinkfresh Studio for a blog hop in celebration of their newest release.

What’s a blog hop?

If you’re not familiar with a blog hop, let me explain… Pinkfresh Studio has challenged several of our crafty friends to create projects with the new release. Each one of us has made something special, and we’ve all posted it at the same time. We will each link to the next blogger, so you can hop along in a circle to see each one like a virtual parade! It’s so very fun. There are also giveaways! I’ll share more details here in a bit, but for now let’s get on with the project tutorial…

Step 1: Background

I started by die cutting the new Sparkling Diamonds background panel from white cardstock. I wasn’t sure where I was going just yet, so I cut several extras while I had everything out. I then ink blended using Raspberry Bliss, Clementine, and Coral Reef. (If your inks look splotchy at first, keep going and know they will blend together more as the ink is pulled into the paper and dries.)

Step 2: Layers

Next, I trimmed a sliver off each side of the ink blended panel, so I could mount it over a piece of white creating a thin white border. I die cut the small frame using the Stitched Scallop Rectangles die ensuring I cut it from the center of my white A2 panel, so the negative space would be hidden behind the colorful layer.

Step 3: Stamp & Emboss

At this point, I was thinking a bright green would go well with the orange & pink background, so I stamped the Brighter Days stamp three times with embossing ink onto watercolor paper and heat embossed in in white. There is a coordinating layering stencil set and hot foil plate for this stamp set, but this creative wave pushed me in another direction.

Step 4: Watercolor

I pressed my mini ink pads onto a silicone mat then used a water brush to color in the succulents and leaves. I really got into the zone and ended up coloring all the other images as well. It’s so fun and relaxing to me.

This is a great idea to do anyhow since I already had all my supplies out. Now I have extras to use on more projects and won’t have to make another mess I have to clean.

Step 5: Die Cutting

After all the images had dried, I used the coordinating Brighter Days die to cut them out and started playing around with the different pieces. I also pulled out my pack of Foiled Sentiments as I saw several of them had a cute loop that fit nicely in the little nooks of the layout.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

By this time, I knew where I was going with my final layout. I took the white base layer with the ink blended panel over to my sewing machine and stitched a decorative border in a purple thread. I splattered a white iridescent pigment over the background and let it dry. After that, I layered the white scalloped frame on top using foam tape followed by the blooms and leaves. The sentiment is layered with foam tape as well. For the final touch, I added a several jewels in Bubblegum, Peach Fuzz, and Lavender.

And there you have the finished card! I really hope you like it.
