Mar ’22 Club Sursee: New Roots Card

Hello, there! I’m back again today to share another project I created with this month’s Catherine Pooler Designs Club Sursee stamps & dies. If you missed the first one, you can check that out HERE. Otherwise, let me show you how I created this one…

Step 1: Die Cutting

To start, I took an A2 piece of white cardstock and ran it through my die cut machine with several of the frames from the Scallops & Dots die set. To ensure the dies didn’t move during cutting, I used a bit low tack tape.

Step 2: Ink Blending

I then used a purple ink to blend color onto the left hand side of a piece of watercolor paper trimmed just a bit smaller than the die cut frame.

Step 3: Splatter

I splattered purple paint and pearl pigment ink onto the watercolor panel and let it dry for a few minutes.

Step 4: Prepare the Shaker Base

I adhered the watercolor panel to the center of a white top folding card base cut 1/4″ larger than the frame then sprinkled a few sequins in the center.

Step 5: Final Assembly

Clear acetate was added behind the white frame to create a window. A bit of twine was added and then the piece was secured to the card front with adhesive foam strips.

Finally, I adhered one of the stamped and colored die cut plant images I created in my last tutorial.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that you’ll come back again soon to see the next project I created with this stamp & die set.

You can also check out more of my projects in my Gallery, on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and now YouTube as well. Until next time… stay crafty!
