Craft Room Update

Hello! Hello! I am back to share a couple updates on my craft room with you. If you have any questions, make sure to leave me a comment below, so I can answer it for you.

Above are a few of the ‘before’ shots I took in the past when my room was clean and still working okay for me. You can click on them to be take to the original posts for those. My room looks quite different these days though…

It took me about two weeks to finally get everything out of this room. It started off pretty slowly as I had buried myself in here pretty well. However, with the cabinet installers expected to arrive today, my butt went into high gear this past weekend, and every evening since then. We ordered the cabinets back at the end of June or early July. It’s been so long, I can’t remember exactly anymore.

Seeing the room empty like this almost makes me fall in love with it again. It’s so pretty and clean. If you look closely though, you’ll notice there’s hardly any storage. I just have two little sets of drawers. The floating shelves couldn’t hold much weight, so they only served to hold decorations. You can see one of the smaller ones on the left fell off the wall even. The open space there used to have a large lighted vanity mirror. The drawers on that side held my make up. Because I go to work so early and didn’t want to wake up my family with turning on lights, this became the only spot for me to get ready in the mornings. Like many people, I stopped wearing make up when COVID & masking started. I also needed a separate desk to set up my work laptop for telehealth appointments. I still don’t wear much make up if at all, and I conduct most of my patient appointments over the phone in my actual work office these days.

I thought perhaps I would convert the vanity side of my desk into more crafting, and keep the computer side for more of a traditional office set up, but I never ended up leaving the computer chair to walk around to the other side, so it was just a waste.

I have a bonus room right next to my craft room, so naturally all of my things ended up in here. This photo is pretty bad, but after I took it I actually thought it didn’t look so bad because you can’t see how deep & packed the piles are on the left and right. The counter tops and shelves are also completely packed too.

My husband set up a folding table from our garage for me to work on temporarily, so I moved all of my little organizer bins to fit around me. I originally forgot to leave a space for my computer, but once I moved the little console table in, I was able to scoot it all over and make room.

Once I get that little pile of goodies sorted into my bins, I should have just enough room to make something if I really need to. Heck, now I can even watch TV while I craft. Maybe this will be fun for a little while, or maybe I’ll get distracted with some crazy housewives nonsense or an HGTV makeover. We will see… Ha!

Since I get asked a lot, I hope to go ahead and answer as many questions as I can for you in regard to where I’ve purchased items. Much of my craft room furniture I bought at a nearby Ikea when we lived in Italy, but a few items I purchased specifically for this room once we moved back here to the USA. If you’re interested, below are the links to where you can find exactly what I have in my craft room. Please let me know if you have any other questions in the comments below, and I’ll be sure to get you an answer ASAP and add to the the below list as needed.

Until next time… stay crafty! – Laura Evangeline

  1. I love these pictures! How did you craft without a TV after all these years? I can’t craft in silence. Actually I really can’t do anything in silence. Maybe it’s my job. It’s gotten me so used to noise that now I need it. 🤣 Sending love ❤️
